Long Beach Residential Internet Coverage
As one of the largest cities in California, Long Beach has a rapidly growing need for high-speed internet that keeps up with its residents and tourists.
Fiber is available through Frontier FiOS, which services the Wilmington area, downtown Long Beach, and the Naples-Marina area. Other covered areas include East Side, Circle Area, Poly High, and Wrigley. Service is not widely available in the northeastern part of Long Beach.
Customers can choose fiber or DSL from AT&T. AT&T provides coverage to a large area of Long Beach, with the exception of central communities like downtown, Belmont Heights, Belmont Shore, North Long Beach, and Northwest Long Beach.
However, the central neighborhoods of Long Beach are in the coverage map of Frontier Communications. Areas served by Frontier include downtown, Poly High, Wrigley, Los Cerritos, and Signal Hill.

Los Angeles residential internet coverage
Broadband internet service (internet with a download speed of at least 25 Mbps) is available to 99% of Los Angeles residents. That means that nearly every Angeleno has access to broadband internet. Several internet service providers of different types and sizes are available in LA, but AT&T and Spectrum serve the most areas.
Since Los Angeles is such a sprawling megalopolis, the internet services available at your residence will vary greatly depending on what neighborhood you’re in. Here’s a breakdown of what kind of service you’ll find in different parts of the city:
West Los Angeles
Spectrum has you covered for cable internet in Westside areas like Brentwood, Westwood, and Santa Monica—its network spans the entire city. AT&T, meanwhile, offers DSL and fiber options in most of the Westside. However, AT&T isn’t available in coastal communities from Marina del Rey up to Topanga State Park.
Van Nuys Residential Internet Coverage
The Van Nuys neighborhood, located in northern Los Angeles, is an extremely busy residential and commercial area. For that reason, many established internet service providers offer service in this region.
Customers can select from fiber service and DSL service through AT&T, which offers widespread coverage in Van Nuys. The network reaches the city limits at San Diego Freeway in the west, Hollywood Freeway in the east, and Roscoe Boulevard in the north.
In northern and western Van Nuys, Frontier Communications has a growing network that reaches many key neighborhoods. Service is available in southern neighborhoods east of Woodley Park and in neighborhoods bordering the San Diego Freeway. Coverage picks up north of Sherman Way.
Those interested in cable internet service often choose Time Warner Cable. The Time Warner Cable network reaches all areas of the Van Nuys neighborhood and extends into other Los Angeles neighborhoods
Torrance Residential Internet Coverage
Coastal city Torrance has over 1 full mile of beachfront land, stretching eastward into inland California. The city is home to many internet service providers, from fiber and DSL to cable and satellite.
Through Frontier FiOS, business and residential customers throughout Torrance enjoy access to fiber internet. Coverage is present in much of West Torrance, Hollywood Riviera, and part of Walteria. Few parts of eastern Torrance fall within the Frontier FiOS service map.
Another major provider in this area is AT&T, which brings both DSL and fiber internet to Torrance. All of Torrance enjoys access to DSL, fiber, or both through AT&T.
Frontier Communications is another DSL option in Torrance, serving West Torrance, Hollywood Riviera, and about half of North Torrance.
From western neighborhoods like West Torrance to eastern areas like Old Town and South East Torrance, nearly all of the city is served by Time

What was the Universal Automatic Computer nicknamed?
Computer once meant a person who did computations, but now the term almost universally refers to automated electronic machinery. The first section of this article focuses on modern digital electronic computers and their design, constituent parts, and applications. The second section covers the history of computing. For details on computer architecture, software, and theory, see computer science.
The first computers were used primarily for numerical calculations. However, as any information can be numerically encoded, people soon realized that computers are capable of general-purpose information processing. Their capacity to handle large amounts of data has extended the range and accuracy of weather forecasting. Their speed has allowed them to make decisions about routing telephone connections through a network and to control mechanical

What Lindsay Pierce saw on her security cameras Saturday night made her ill.
After hours of being glued to the TV news, she’d turned her focus to her computer, where she could monitor her Melrose Avenue business, Wax, through security cameras.
She wanted to keep an eye on her store as protesters continued to move through the Fairfax District. The 33-year-old has owned the store for a year, but the business has been around for more than a decade.
About 11 p.m., she said, three young men darted inside after windows of the glass storefront were shattered. They immediately moved to the business’ internet router and disconnected it, cutting off Pierce’s connection.
“I started sweating. I got sick to my stomach. I was just thinking, ‘Please don’t light it on fire,’” Pierce said Sunday morning as friends and workers cleaned up the vandalized business and cleared the sidewalk of broken

Las Vegas Residential Internet Coverage
Las Vegas is a well-connected city. Virtually 100% of Vegas residents have access to broadband internet speeds, which the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) defines as 25 Mbps download speeds and 3 Mbps upload speeds. And most residents have access to speeds even faster than that.
The only downside for Vegas residents is the lack of choices. While you have plenty of fast internet packages to choose from, those packages are mostly offered by just two providers: CenturyLink and Cox. Satellite internet from Viasat is also an option if you’re prepared to deal with latency.
The most widely available providers throughout the city are definitely Cox and CenturyLink. Folks living inside the beltway have the advantage of fast internet available from either ISP (Internet Service Provider).
The Cox service area stretches from Boulder City to Mount Charleston and from Nellis Air Force Base to near the
