NetAddiction | Internet Addiction Test (IAT)

The Internet Addiction Test emerged as the first validated measure of Internet and technology addiction. The Internet Addiction suite of tests brings together the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) and the Internet Addiction Test for Families (IAT-F). The IAT is a self-report instrument for adolescents and adults. The IAT-F is for children and adolescents and completed by an informant who knows the youth well. Both instruments can be used together in assessment to obtain a well-rounded profile of the client’s Internet addiction and also to identify discrepancies amongst raters, who could benefit from psychoeducation.

The Internet Health Test

Frequently Asked Questions

Pressing “start test” runs a series of individual measurement tests, each to a different place on the Internet. These individual tests are named “steps” in the current interface.

Each test (step) sends traffic to and from your device (laptop, phone, etc.) to a measurement point that is located outside of your ISP’s network.

This tests helps determine whether there is congestion at the connection between your ISP and another network that your ISP connects with. As more Internet users run tests from different locations, the more the source of a problem becomes clear.

These other networks, where the measurement points are located, are chosen because they represent locations where content and services that users like you would frequently access are hosted.

A test to a given location begins to indicate whether you can quickly get to content hosted in that location (or, whether your bank’s site (etc.)

Speed test – how fast is your internet?

English German

Test your download, upload and latency from a mobile phone up to optical fiber, and everything between. This test is pure HTML5

This test requires your browser’s full attention for accurate results. Run the test when your network is quiet, and don’t switch to other applications or change browser tabs during the test. A few Windows security and privacy software packages can block the test or slow the browser.

You have a poorly written browser extension installed, there is missing functionality

Note:

Welcome to the speed test that tests internet speed not just speed to your ISP.
  • A complete test takes less than 45 seconds
  • If you switch tabs during the test, it will stop (blame the browser!).
  • Past tests will show up in this space, so start building your history.
  • We test more than just top speed.

Speakeasy Internet Speed Test – Check Your Broadband Speed

Why do I get a “socket error” message?

An error may result from having the speed test open in more than one browser tab or window. The test may fail to complete and display the following message:

“A socket error occurred during the Upload test. Please try again later.”

To prevent this error, and get the most accurate test results, close all other browser tabs and windows before running.

If you continue to get a socket error message, or another type of error message, please provide feedback by emailing us at speedtestfeedback@megapath.com. Include your OS/Browser information. Thank you.

Why are there sometimes fewer than the usual 8 locations in the Change City list? Or, why is the location I usually pick missing from the City list?

We first complete a latency test to our servers, and if a server does not respond within a specified time frame, it

the Open Broadband Speed Test

We’re sorry, the tests appear to have failed.
This is most likely due to restrictions on your network,
such as an office or personal firewall,
or browser plugins that block access to the tests.
Please check to see if their are any applications or firewalls that could
be limiting your ability to conduct measurements, and that your
software is up-to-date.

How does the test work?

The Internet Health Test runs a few short speed tests to several measurement servers on different networks to compare how your broadband connection performance varies to different parts of the Internet. These tests shouldn’t take too long and do not collect personal information from your browser.
