WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool

WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool

WAVE is a suite of evaluation tools that helps authors make their web content more accessible to individuals with disabilities. WAVE can identify many accessibility and Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) errors, but also facilitates human evaluation of web content. Our philosophy is to focus on issues that we know impact end users, facilitate human evaluation, and to educate about web accessibility.

You can use the online WAVE tool by entering a web page address (URL) in the field above. WAVE Firefox and Chrome extensions are available for testing accessibility directly within your web browser – handy for checking password protected, locally stored, or highly dynamic pages. We also have a WAVE Runner service, subscription WAVE API and a stand-alone WAVE API for easily collecting data on many pages. If you need enterprise-level reporting and tracking of accessibility, WAVE powers the Pope Tech accessibility tool.

The 20 Funniest Websites for the Best Humor on the Web

Comedy is a diverse and varied genre; no two people have exactly the same tastes.

With the advent of the internet, however, that doesn’t matter. There really is something out there for everyone—from lowbrow to highbrow and from cheesy to cutting satire.

Let’s start the laugh meter with the funniest websites on the web.

Engrish: Funny website

It seems somehow appropriate to kick off this list with Engrish.com. It’s a website that specializes in pictures of English-language mishaps, often in foreign lands.

Let’s be clear, there is absolutely no shame in making errors when English is not your mother tongue, but this funny website typically focuses on errors committed by businesses—and there really is no excuse for them.

funny or die site

Funny or Die’s bread and butter are viral videos, but it mixes them in with a healthy dose of original content from comedians as well. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy launched the

Growth and Usage of the Web and the Internet

Introduction

Want to know how big the Internet is? How fast is it growing? Will
it ever stop? These pages are meant to be a collection of Internet
statistics in one place. A good bit of this, especially the web
growth data, was researched by me personally. Other information is
credited appropriately on the individual pages.

If you want to publish these statistics in any form,
you are granted permission under the conditions that, if the data
originated with me, you include explicit credit to “Matthew Gray of
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology”. This includes permission
to include in newspaper, magazine, newsletter and journal articles,
presentations, memos, web sites, and marketing material, assuming
proper credit is given. You are not required to notify me of your use
of this data, but feel free to

Web Pages That Suck – learn good web design by looking at bad web design

I’ve taken a long sabbatical from the site because of an overdose of dealing with websites and people suffering from Dunning-Kruger Syndrome. Seriously, 20 years of looking at badly designed websites takes its toll, but like John Wick, I’m back. Bad websites: Prepare to get shot in the face a la John Wick. Click picture for my feelings on the matter.

some websites are unbelievably bad

This year there’s less emphasis on using Over-The-Top websites—mostly because I’ve separated them into their own document The 12 Worst Over-The-Top Websites of 2014—and started discussing mobile mistakes along with more serious design flaws. This shouldn’t be a surprise as the world is seeing a quantifiable move from the desktop to mobile.

Website Design for Government | Goverment Web Design & Development

Vision is Now govAccess

[DC Breakfast] Optimize Your Website to Better Serve and Engage Your Community

In February 2018, Granicus announced its acquisition of Vision Internet – the premier government website design provider in the U.S. and Canada. Bringing Vision into the Granicus solution suite meant that more customers had access to a seamlessly integrated digital experience beyond government website design alone.

More recently, we laid out how Vision solutions would be bundled under the new product family known as Granicus govAccess — a custom, user-friendly government website design solution. The new govAccess product family completes the Granicus platform that also includes — govDelivery, Granicus’ communications marketing solution; govMeetings, its meeting management solution; and govRecords, its records management platform.
