UH assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, Rose Faghih, is developing algorithms to enhance smartwatches to deliver information about emotional and cognitive states. For her project, Faghih won the prestigious CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.

Adapting Smartwatches to Improve Distance Learning and Health Harish Krishnamoorthy, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at UH, is creating a roadmap to boost the development of 5G networks.

There are big advantages to 5G networks. In addition to faster speeds, 5G offers greater bandwidth and network capacity, paving the way for a future of driverless cars, connected devices and more high-definition connections for virtual meetings and telemedicine. But the rollout in the United States and elsewhere has been stymied by gaps in available technology that could operate at the high frequencies required by 5G.

New $1M Hardware Project Would Boost 5G Networks The Cullen College of Engineering was recently ranked at No. 67 on the list of 2021 Best Graduate Schools By U.S. News & World Report.

On Tuesday, March 17, U.S. News & World Report released its updated 2021 rankings of best graduate engineering programs in the country. The UH Cullen College of Engineering has increased once again and is now rated No. 67. 

Cullen College Listed Among Best Engineering Graduate Schools of 2021 The UH/HCC Engineering Academy at Katy is a unique educational partnership between UH and HCC.

Over 100 individuals joined representatives from the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering and Houston Community College last Thursday, Feb. 20, for the first official UH/HCC Engineering Academy Information Session. The event was held at the new UH at Katy facility, which officially opened in August 2019.
