OUR USAGE GADGET HELPS YOU MONITOR YOUR BANDWIDTH USAGE

Here’s everything you need to know.

Please note: This chart is updated periodically and may not reflect your most recent usage. Though not common, it can take up to 24 hours to update the chart. Please use this only as a guide to help monitor your usage totals. Usage is measured within a 30-day rolling period and does not correspond with your billing cycle.

WildBlue Bandwidth Usage Gadget for Google Start Page

The WildBlue Usage Gadget looks like this.

What is the WildBlue Bandwidth Usage Gadget?
It’s a tool you can add to your WildBlue.net home page to monitor your bandwidth usage for the last 30 days.

How do I add the gadget?
Once you’re logged in, click “Add Stuff” on the right side of the WildBlue Start Page. The usage gadget is called “WildBlue Bandwidth Usage.”

Click here for detailed, step-by-step instructions (to see all the steps, click on “show/hide all steps” on the right side of the page).

Why would I want to monitor my bandwidth usage, anyway?
You may not need to monitor your bandwidth usage at all. Most customers have more than enough bandwidth to surf the web, send and receive email, watch videos on YouTube, download music and more without ever approaching their bandwidth thresholds. The thresholds are the amount of data that you can upload or download in a 30-day period before WildBlue’s Fair Access Policy may reduce your speeds. Typically these thresholds affect less than 3% of our customers and help ensure optimum performance for all WildBlue customers.

What are the levels of usage I get with my WildBlue package?
Usage thresholds are based on the service package you have with WildBlue. These levels are as follows:

Service Package

Value

Select

Pro

Download

7,500MB

12,000MB

17,000MB

Upload

2,300MB

3,000MB

5,000MB

Why does WildBlue limit bandwidth through a Fair Access policy?
Enforcing a Fair Access policy ensures that WildBlue’s service operates at optimum speeds at all times, allowing all customers fair access to bandwidth. Since WildBlue is a shared network, our Fair Access Policy is in place to prevent excessive usage by a few customers, which would have a negative effect on the average usage and access of other customers.

All WildBlue service subscribers agree (via the Customer Agreement) to abide by the WildBlue Fair Access Policy. Click here to read the Fair Access Policy now (PDF).

WildBlue Bandwidth Usage Gadget for Google Start Page

If your Usage Gadget looks like this, it’s not receiving your usage data. Contact us and we’ll investigate the problem.

What if I’m getting a message that says “Browser security settings are not allowing this page to display correctly”?
If you’re seeing this message, you’re probably using Internet Explorer 7. You’ll need to add “myaccount.wildblue.net” to your list of trusted sites, which is in “Internet Options” under “Tools.” Click here for instructions on how to do this.

What if I’m getting a message that says “We apologize, your usage data cannot be displayed”?
If this is the first time you’ve ever seen the message, it may simply be a temporary data transmission issue. Wait 24 hours and see if the problem goes away. If you’re seeing this message on a consistent basis, please contact us so we can fix the problem.

Yikes! I’m getting a double “max exceeded” message!!!
If your message looks like the one at the right, with max exceeded for both upload and download and “undefined” in the threshold scales, then the gadget isn’t receiving your usage data. Contact us for help.
